Water is the key for life (Jurnu) – Exhibiting at Redpoles

this painting i have painted is about waterholes in my mothers country, this is where the story line has come about, from the old people, they say without water there is no life. my mothers country is Meekarratha in WA. In some of the stories they tell us how the waterholes line up with the stars and the milky way. This way we keep our culture strong and connection to country and language.To my people Yamitji and all aboriginal culture. Being Australian Aboriginal First nations. waterholes are a place of rest, love, caring and sharing.
